YouTube Channel’s 17th Birthday

I just saw that today is my YouTube channel’s 17th birthday– Woo Hoo!!!

I’m thankful to Lori Young for starting this back in 2009 in order to help me promote my music. As an independent performing/ recording artist at that time, I didn’t really pay much attention to posting videos on the channel, as I was busy touring and recording music for CDs and downloads. As the popularity of CDs and downloads has been replaced by music streaming (and a significant amount of income was lost) in recent years, the importance of reaching new audiences through the YouTube platform has increased. I have focused primarily on solo tunes and educational videos, as that has been the content that I’ve been able to most effectively create in my studio environment, but with the support of my fans (through www.patreon.com/alexmeixner and from merchandise purchases on my website and at live performances) I’m hoping to produce more collaborative videos and new content in 2026. It has been encouraging to see the views and interaction increasing for my music on YouTube. Last month had 17,728 unique viewers and 48,034 total views. I am greatly appreciative of your support and hope you’ll continue viewing and commenting on my videos as well as subscribing to the channel as I increase the content in the near future.
