Description
A few years ago my good friend Vance Hinton approached me about collaborating with his brewer Ray Mitteldorf, at the Faust Brewing Company in New Braunfels, TX. We discussed a bunch of beers that I enjoyed, as well as some that I didn’t enjoy as much, especially for regular drinking. A few months later, we visited and Ray presented his masterpiece, a true German Pilsner beer! Upon the first taste, I knew we had a winner! As an artist himself, Ray wanted to tweak it a bit and I never argue with trying to perfect work to a better standard, but I’m proud to say after a few more incarnations, he returned to that initial recipe! It’s a really tasty beer that doesn’t fill you up so it satisfies the casual drinker and the finest pallet, in my humble opinion.
Being that it is a true pilsner, it takes substantially longer to make than most other lagers. That extra time and attention at the Faust brewery is definitely worthwhile! Take a taste and see for yourself!
