The 1998 album by The Al Meixner Trio has a nice variety of German, Slovenian, Slovak, and Polish-style selections, in addition to some swing, Latin and ballads. My father was particularly proud of this album. When I listen to this album, I’m transported back to a special time in life, as I had just graduated from college and was traveling extensively with my father, building a lot of the national reputation that has been the basis of my career.
