Meixner-Weber Orchestra- “From Graz to Gorensko” and “Polka Portraits” – these are the first two recordings that Alex’s father made under his own name. The band, which was co-led by late accordionist Joe Weber also featured a very young Jimmy Meyer (the current Alex Meixner Band banjo/ guitar/ vocal man!) These landmark recordings brought a new sound with the twin button boxes of Meixner and Weber in a repertoire of Slovenian and Austrian songs, as well as original compositions.
