As we’re all adjusting to the new normals in our lives, there’s obviously a lot of discomfort and inconvenience. Regardless of your personal experience with COVID-19, there are significant risks for large portions of the international population that will be affecting us, either with legally enforced restrictions, or personally imposed quarantines for health and individual comfort for quite a while. It is very disheartening to see divisions continue to grow in so many parts of our country particularly over a pandemic that affects the entire planet. As a performer and entertainer, my goal is to always bring people together through the music I make. Although I have not been able to perform in person- I hope the Live Streams and Youtube videos I have been posting are helping to spread some happiness and joy, as well as provide some solace and empathy.
As some live performances are starting to appear, I hope everyone can be respectful of each other’s needs for social distance, yet a desire to safely enjoy and support the venues and musicians. I have a few dates that are starting to come together and will be looking forward to sharing them with you a
s soon as possible. We will also be pursuing smaller venues along our travel routes to hopefully connect with y’all in a safe manner. If you are interested in helping to organize any shows- public or private please email firstname.lastname@example.org and hopefully we can make something happen.
That being said, it’s been a tough time for me and the band organization here. With 4 complete months of tours canceled and the inevitable fact that there are more cancellations coming, that’s a lion’s share of income for me and our crew lost. It has provided some serious time to connect in our lives for which I’m extremely grateful for on the family front and allowing me to study more music that I have intended on. I’ve also been learning a lot as I’m doing a lot of reading of books, in addition to trying to get up to speed on some of the technology in the home studio. I’ve also been practicing, arranging, and writing a lot of music that will be the basis of new recordings. I have launched a new site at www.patreon.com/alexmeixner which will be a home for a lot of exciting new projects for me. Fans can find me there and check out the new music, get behind the scenes access to the creative process, and ask questions while supporting the music. There are different levels of support and incentives. Please check it out and let me know what ya think. It’s a work in progress, so I’m definitely open to suggestions. I also will still have new videos and live streams on Youtube, Facebook, and Instagram, so please like, follow and subscribe to keep up on my social media.
Speaking of Live Streams, I have a new Live Stream coming on Tuesday, June 30 at 7pm ET. I will be performing for the finale of the Berks County Americana Fest. My great friend Dave Kline has been organizing this huge event virtually all month. He’s a tireless promoter of music and all things that bring people together in joy and happiness. I’m proud to be performing for him and hope you’ll all tune in on their FB page or my Youtube page. As always, if you have any special requests please email me, or drop a note on FB, Instagram, or Twitter and I’ll do my best to get it in for you.
Thank you so much for your support at all times. I’m doing my best to spread good cheer through my music and am very appreciative of y’all letting me be part of your soundtrack!
