The band is prepping for our first full tour of the year and it’s gonna be a fun one to the land of cheese, beer, and polkas!! Or is that Beer, Cheese, and Polkas? Or is that Polkas, Cheese, and Beer? Or whatever…I’m ready to make some music for our friends up in Wisconsin!
I’ll be picking up Ed Klancnik in Nashville and Dr. Fortunato in Madison, Indiana as well as having a great reunion with our buddy Mikey Kramar coming in from California for the gigs at Estabrook Biergarten on Thursday, July 28 and then our big return to Milwaukee Germanfest on July 29-30-31! It’s always a great festival on beautiful grounds– so we’re looking forward to seeing some great friends- and hopefully making some new ones too!
In the early morning of Monday August 1, I have a tv appearance scheduled TMJ4-The Morning Blend before heading to Franklin, Wisconsin to perform for the Milwaukee Accordion Club at the River Root Center in the evening. This show is open to the public. Consider becoming a member of the club while you are there!
Wednesday, August 3 I’ve just added a laid-back solo “unplugged and strollin'” performance at the Baker House in Lake Geneva. Come join us on the front lawn for music and drinks.
Thursday, August 4 brings the arrival of Rory Hoffman to the band (Kramar had to go back to California) so we swap in the added dimension of his many talents. We’ll be doing a free Concert in the Park in Lake Geneva and then settling in for a return to DasFest in Elkhorn on August 5-6-7. This was a wonderful festival last year so we’re anticipating a fun time with a great lineup of bands and activities!
Also, make sure to check out the digital streaming and download release of Chicago Larry’s Polka and Radio Olympia on Friday, June 29! We still have a few vinyl 45s available from the pressing in the Netherlands on the website at https://alexmeixner.com/shop/alexs-music/vinyl/7-inch-single-chicago-larry-polka-olympia-radio-polka/ I’ve really been enjoying exploring my button box polka roots with these tracks and a few others, hope you do too!!!
See ya on Polka Road!
