We start a week earlier than Munich here in the US- but that’s just because we can’t get enough of our favorite time of the year!!!
The band will be meeting up in Aberdeen, MD for our second appearances at the Aberdeen Proving Ground Oktoberfest on Friday and Saturday. We’ll be sharing the stage with our good friends from NJ, Bavarski, on Saturday and enjoying great German food by the Bavarian Brauhaus from Hanover, MD.
Sunday brings us to Plattduetsche Park in Franklin Square, Long Island for the infamous Ompahfest! We’ll be outside starting around 4:30 pm- amidst a bunch of brass bands from Germany, The Polka Brothers, and Die Spitzbuam.
We head west after Sunday’s gig on to Illinois (Hoffman Estates, Waterloo and Peoria for their Oktoberfest)Â We’re finishing up the graphics for the new album as well. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it and join us to “Make Some Noise”!!! Please share our posts on social media to help spread the word– see everyone soon!!
Thanks to all of our fans and supporters who voted for The Alex Meixner Band as the Favorite International Band from the IPA (International Polka Association). This is the first time we’ve ever been awarded by the organization and are greatly appreciative of y’all, as well as our good friend, Randy Koslosky for accepting the award on our behalf.
