Busy Times!! It’s been a crazy past few months as I’ve been jumping in a bunch of different directions getting the move together and starting a lot of exciting projects! Paula and I are finally in Texas full time and looking forward to getting everything set up here!
This week is a busy “hitting the ground running” week! On Saturday, I’ll be the grand marshal of the Kindermasken Costume Parade in New Braunfels. This 166-year-old tradition features kids in all of their “costumed finery” and is a lot of fun celebrating the town’s history. I’m so happy to be part of this event!
On Sunday, April 10 we’ll be premiering the Intersections Jam Band at Krause’s from 3-7 pm. When the idea of moving to New Braunfels first started coming together- forming a band like this for Krause’s was one of my primary goals. We’re bridging the common intersections of Americana Country/ Rock with Polka, Jazz, Western Swing, and a whole bunch of other musical styles. I’m super excited to have David Beck on bass (currently leading his critically acclaimed Tejano Weekend band), Matthew Briggs on guitar (from Zach Walther Band, as well as a renowned educator and recording engineer), Brett Cline on keys (the solo piano man who plays with everybody in the region will join in on future shows) and Michael Morris on drums (from Jason Roberts and a myriad of country and polka bands, including my band). For the premiere show, our special guest will be Americana singer/ songwriter Jade Marie Patek. We’re super excited to present this free/ open to the public show and hope everyone will enjoy the new musical incubator at Krause’s!
On Tuesday, April 12, I will be commemorating my membership in the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon-cutting event at 4:30 pm at Krause’s. Looking forward to meeting up with the chamber members and learning more about this great town and all of the people working to keep life wonderful here!
Running off to rehearsals and excited to make more music here– as well as on the road with Rory Hoffman on our very upcoming duo tour to Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska, and Iowa. Check out the calendar for the upcoming dates!!
