2019 is coming to a close! It’s been a year of a lot of ups and downs. On the major ups- I married my beautiful love, Paula, in June and everyone here is healthy and happy. Lots of good music and reunions with old friends as well as new friends and fans have been made on performances throughout the USA (and the Netherlands).
The passing of my father, and accepting his induction to the National Cleveland Style Polka Hall of Fame has caused a lot of introspection that although at first brings up sadness of what has been lost, also has made me that much more thankful for all I have learned from him and many other major influences in my life.
I resolve to be more grateful each day for the opportunity to continue a family legacy in music and share it with all of the wonderful people I encounter!
Before the year officially closes, I’ll be returning to the German American Society of Central Florida in Casselberry for the annual New Year’s Eve event. I’ll be joined by Tommy on drums and Dr. Fortunato is flying in from Texas to entertain y’all. There are still some tickets available online, so feel free to contact and join in the fun!
I have been greatly enjoying my new Munda Button Accordion and hope to be posting some new videos of this tremendous instrument soon. I’m very inspired by the craftsmanship and beauty of the sounds from this instrument. I can’t wait to get it ready to perform with the band!
For those of you that didn’t get the Alex Meixner CDs, DVDs, shirts, beer deckles, bandanas, stickers, pins or band members you wanted for Christmas, we’re having a special 15% off sitewide sale for the start of the year. It’s a good way to treat yourself for being good for the beginning of a new decade as well as clear out some warehouse space. We hope to have a new album coming out this year so help us make some room to make some more noise!!
Much love and good wishes for the new year!
