I’m so excited (and I just can’t hide it!) for some new projects at Krause’s coming up soon…
- Sunday, June 12 is the second performance of the Intersections Jam Band which is comprised of a revolving cast of Americana-Country-Rock-Jazz-Folk-Polka musicians showing off the intersections of different musical styles. This is a free show from 3-7 PM so bring your family and friends out to enjoy fun music, food, and beverages. All ages are welcome!! For this Sunday’s show, I’ll be sharing the stage with renowned piano man Mike Atkins, the versatile Brett Cline on Bass, the blazing Pancho Garza on Bass, and “El Chavalon” Michael Morris on Drums for the main band. I think they’re all singing and there’s a chance they might all play accordion before the day is done! Our guests are internationally famous singer-songwriter/ KNBT morning man, Tom Gillam, 3-Time Grammy winner Sunny Sauceda and Hector Saldana of the iconic San Antonio rockers, The Krayolas plus the Adventures in Music Guitar Studio students will be doing a few songs.
- Monday, June 13 is a sold-out GerTexican cooking demonstration with the inimitable Boomer making new culinary creations that fuse German, Texan, and Mexican cooking with musical and comedic interludes provided by yours truly… I’m hoping we’re able to reprise this program with more new food! Keep an eye out on the schedule for it!
- Wednesday, June 15 will be the premier of Die Volksmusik Trio in which I’ll be playing Austrian and Slovenian Volksmusik in a trio setting with Gary Trumet and Manfred Zehentmayr. We’re excited to play some traditional music from the Oberkrain for dancers and listeners alike. This is my roots music and I’m honored to share the stage with these illustrious musicians! Again, the price is free! Enjoy the music, eat some food and drink some beverages, including Faust’s Alex Meixner Polka Pils (if you’re over the age of 21!)
Also, if you’re in the Houston area on Friday, June 24 please plan to attend my solo show at the Dosey Doe BBQ/ Whiskey Bar in the Woodlands. It’s an awesome venue and I love playing music in the acoustic solo setting and telling stories for y’all. I promise it’s a super good time. Of course, buying tickets in advance is appreciated by the venue (and me) so we can make sure there’s an audience 🙂
Finally, I’ll be doing an accordion masterclass in Austin for Not Just Oompah on Sunday, June 26. All ages and ability levels are welcome, as I will be contouring the session to make sure it is effective and enjoyable for the attendees. Please make reservations asap- so I can prepare to make this a great experience for ya’ll!!
