It sure is nice getting some time down to reflect and plan for the year. This is a very nice time to be home in South Florida. While it seems everywhere else is getting pelted with nasty winter weather, it’s been very pleasant here. It’s giving me some good time at home with my family, while I’m also getting that necessary office work done to book the tour gigs and work on new repertoire.
I started composing some more new music this week, which will hopefully be creeping into the repertoire, as well as started thinking of some new cover tunes—both in the traditional and non-traditional sensibilities. (If any of you have ideas for tunes I should think about covering, let me know—might be fun to get a few suggestions rolling…) Already, a few friends have been sharing some cool music with me—everything from some really amazing French accordionists to old Bernie Witkowski Polish polkas to some current Austrian Folk Pop and of course I’m jamming out to some Gypsy punk or something like that too…. My daughter is randomly grabbing cds from my shelf and getting me up and dancing too- so that’s all good!
All in all, it’s a good time around here. Hope all is good wherever you are… even if it is snowing…. Soon enough, spring will be here and then summer festival season!
Stay well, stay warm and dig some good music…
