After romping through the Midwest for the past few days with some cool shows in Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin and Ohio– we’re continuing east. It has been great seeing some old friends and fans as well as meeting some new ones! The van has been definitely overpacked with 4 of us for this initial leg, but we’re staying cozy. We have an afternoon show at Bethlehem Musikfest’s Volksplatz stage from 3:30 to 5pm on Thursday Aug 13Â and then onto Long Island where we return to the biergarten at Plattduetsche in Franklin Square, NY from 6-10pm. It’s always a great party there for all ages and then onto Asbury Park, NJ at the new Asbury Festhalle and Biergarten— where, weather permitting, we will be performing in the afternoon outside from 5-9pm — so keep an eye on the updates for that. It’s a super cool place!
And the back to Bethlehem Musikfest for our annual Festplatz show on the 16th from 3:30-7pm. It is a great day to enjoy the traditional polkas of Walt Groller before us and then The Alex Meixner Band before the fest closes out with a cover band for the night. I always enjoy seeing all the hometown peeps at this show each year.
The boys and I get to relax on Monday before heading to NYC for a return to Reichenbach Hall, Manhattan’s premier German biergarten/ restaurant on Tuesday, August 18 at 7pm… and if you’re anywhere near Boston-check out our show at Johnny D’s in Somerville, MA on Wednesday, August 19. I have great memories of playing at this club with Polka Freakout a few years ago- and sadly, the club will be permanently closing in the winter. So, check out a historically awesome music room featuring an old friend from my Ithaca College days- Britt Connors and her band Bourbon Renewal opening for us. She’s a wonderful singer/ songwriter and her band is excellent… Looking forward to a great evening there! Please pickup tickets ahead of time if possible– ordering online is easy and let’s the club know we’ll have some people there to enjoy the music! It’s rare that I get up to Boston- so hopefully we can start building it into our tour routing.
See y’all out there!
