After a great May tour/early June tour that took Alex and the band through gigs in 7 states from New York to Missouri, it’s good to get a few weeks home. Of course, even at home, Alex is staying busy–in between running around with the kids (and trying to keep up with Brody’s new drum set!) he’s working up some new arrangements for a future album, practicing for some upcoming concerts and has a little performance at the Cummings Library in Palm City, FL on Saturday, June 20 (2pm-3:30 pm). For this show, Alex presents his “Horns a Plenty” program in which he performs and does some interactive educational demonstrations with the kids on different kinds of brass instruments. Fun for audiences of all ages, Alex will perform some classical, jazz, world and pop repertoire in between teaching about how to make sound and why it sounds like it does… Admission is free, so drop by if you’re around!
The band hits the road again next week for a quick jaunt to Pennsylvania to perform at Johnstown’s Thunder in the Valley Bike Rally on Friday, June 26, a wedding on Saturday and a return engagement at the Sands Casino’s Molten Lounge in Bethlehem on Sunday, June 28.
The hardcore summer tour hits soon after with performances throughout the northeast and Midwest. Keep an eye on the website at www.alexmeixner.com. More fall and winter dates are getting set to be announced soon and of course, visit the online store so you can be prepared with your Alex Meixner t-shirts, hat pins and CDs (or downloads)!
