I probably say this every year, but this year really has flown by… Between crazy gigs and traveling, seeing the kids growing at home (both in size and in all of their developing talents and interests) and just the plain turning of the calendar– time sure is marching on!
That being said, I have to again thank everyone in New Braunfels for the amazing hospitality and great times at Wurstfest. It is a great testament to a group of people working hard to have a good time together and do a wonderful event for their community that this festival continues to grow every year. If more communities and organizations across our country could come together in this fashion I think we’d find people would be a lot happier….With that all said, I’m greatly appreciative and always look forward to returning to New Braunfels… (as I will for my annual Fat Tuesday show at the Brauntex Theatre on Tues Feb. 17— tickets are available now– perfect for Christmas stocking stuffers!!!!
In the meantime, speaking of Christmas stockings—- we’ve now added the new “Happiness is a Choice” t-shirts to the website store (from toddler and youth sizes to ladies and men’s cuts in all conventional sizes up to XXXL) — in addition to the current CDs, hat pins, I’m so happy to see some of y’all discovering (or re-discovering) the music of my friend/ mentor Don Lipovac. http://alexmeixner.com/alexstore
I have 1 more trip for the year— centered around an extended stay in Cleveland, OH. (Where I understand a heatwave is in order, right?) I’m honored to return to the annual Thanksgiving Polka Fest at the Marriott on Fri. Nov 28. We’ll be staying in town for a very special wedding on Saturday and then I’ll be continuing with an educational residency in the Lakewood Public Schools for 3 days, culminating in a concert with my band on Wed. Dec. 3 at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium and then a 2 night stay at the new Hofbrau Haus in downtown Cleveland. I look forward to seeing all of my Cleveland friends at all of these very cool venues before the band and I truck out to Hoboken, NJ to play at the Pilsener Haus on Saturday Dec. 6.
There are a few more special Christmas tour shows in PA and NY during the week– that have some tickets available, so come on out and check out the shows on Sunday, Dec. 7 at the American Club of Coplay, PA for the Coplay Fire Department benefit, Tues. Dec. 9 at the Village Lanterne in Lindenhurst, NY, Wed. Dec. 10 at the Evergreen in Fleetwood, PA and Friday Dec. 12 at the Unter Uns in Altoona, PA. These are all great venues that the band and I enjoy returning to– we hope to see you and perform some fun shows.
Performances are starting to fall in line for the 2015 tours. If there are any venues that you would like to see the Alex Meixner Band return to or start, please let them know we’re booking now. It’s always a challenge to get all of the venues and dates to line in our extensive travel schedule, but we’re working as hard as we can to help everyone “Choose Happiness” with our music!!
Hope everyone is staying warm as the Thanksgiving holiday is fast approaching!
