I’m very happy to announce that the new cd by Guy Klucevsek “Dancing on the Volcano” has been issued on Tzadik Records. ( www.tzadik.com )Any recording by the famed accordion virtuoso/ composer is cause for celebration, but I’m personally honored to have been included as a guest artist on 3 tunes.
I played 2nd accordion to Guy on the title track, a Slavic style romp on a volcano that keeps us both flying on the fingerboard, while the stellar rhythm section of John Hollenbeck and Pete Donovan keeps us in Czech…. (a little ethnic humor there! 🙂 Additionally, I also played on “The Man with the Rubber Head,” a curious little waltz with a pretty melody and cool harmonies, along with some adventure and “Meet Me on the Midway”, a polka Guy dedicated to the late great accordionist Johnny Vadnal. This tune brought out some different interpretations from me, so don’t be surprised if you see it showing up with a different arrangement on my next album…
If you like interesting music– check this cd out, I’m particularly enjoying March of the Lazy Prognosticators (the opening track) as my car cd player is shuffling on the miles of driving.
I hope to have some copies available on my upcoming gigs as well.
