The 30th annual Slavic Festival honors the heritage and traditions of Sugar Creek, which was built on a wave of Slavic immigrants in the early 1900’s. Rich Slavic traditions and culture have been
passed down through the generations and are still prominent today, reflected in the food, music, dancing and singing at the festival.
Returning to the 2016 Slavic Festival is Alex Meixner, a Grammy-nominated musician and master of the accordion who will be performing some traditional Slavic classics and contemporary tunes
for everyone to dance to. Along with Meixner, several other musical guests will be performing such as the Sugar Creek Kolo Kids, Ethnic Dance Troupe, Tamburitzans, village musicians, Hrvatski Običaj, and more.
