I finally got home this morning from another epic New Braunfels Wurstfest trip! We had totally awesome audiences and guest artists including Josh Baca, Percy Cardona, Cory Pesaturo, Sunny Sauceda, Gene Bartkiewicz, Yesenia McNett and the Tubameisters in addition to just about all of the band regulars from the last year. The weather mostly cooperated although a bit chilly at times and a bit hot at others (it’s Texas in November, we understand!!) I always am thankful for the wonderful people of New Braunfels who support the shows of the Alex Meixner Band. Of course, we are returning for our annual Fat Tuesday show at the Brauntex on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. It’s a highlight of our schedule every year and the band is already preparing some awesome material for this show. Tickets are on sale now and they make great Christmas presents!! Hope to see y’all there!
After returning from my adopted hometown of New Braunfels, I will be heading to my hometown area of the Lehigh Valley, PA to accept a Linny Award from ArtsQuest, as Performing Artist of the Year. I’m very honored to be honored by an organization that is not just from my home but organizes Musikfest, the festival that I first started performing at the age of 7. While in Bethlehem for the ceremony on Thursday, Nov 14, I will stick around for two quick functions for the PA Music Preservation Society that I hope you’ll consider supporting on Fri Nov 15.
Then I fly back to my actual home and perform locally with the band on Sunday, Nov 17 at the German American Society of the Palm Beaches in Lake Worth, FL for BeerFest. This is gonna be a fun one as we’re starting to play here more often for the locals!! Dr. Fortunato will be coming in from Texas to jam with Paddy, Tommy and me plus special guest, Jan Lewan. C’mon out, it’ll be a bunch of fun!
