We have recently teamed up with our good friend Andreas Schwarzkopf from Frankenmuth, MI to get some new lederhosen! His company, Bavarian Specialties, LLC ( www.bavarianspecialty.com ) has a wonderful array of trachten (lederhosen, bundhosen, dirndl dresses, shoes, hats, socks, shirts– you name it!) as well as recordings and other gift items from Germany and Austria. We’re all sure you’ll find Andreas and his peeps to be very friendly and helpful in finding the right attire or gifts from Europe. They will be at more festivals this year with The Alex Meixner Band so you can get your festive attire and sport it with the band too!! We’re looking forward to showing off more of our new styles in the near future!
I am making a rare winter trip to the northeast– hopefully I can bring some Florida sunshine and temperatures with me!!! I’m very excited to be embarking on a 4 day residency at Oil City High School. It’s great to have the opportunity to collaborate with great teachers and students on some music for nearly a week, before meeting up with the rest of the band for our premier engagement at the Bierhaus in NYC (Friday March 1) and the marathon “Irish Day” at the Pilsener Haus in Hoboken, NJ on Saturday March 2. Hoping to have a few guests with the band as well– so keep an eye out for some extra fun! We’ll also be continuing the road tests of some new songs that were created at our sessions in San Antonio and premiered in New Braunfels, TX at our first of a seemingly annual Fat Tuesday shows at the Brauntex Theatre (We’ve already been engaged for 2014 and promises towards 2015!!! Have I ever mentioned how much I love New Braunfels? :))
