It was a great trip to Wisconsin and Illinois with the Alex Meixner Band. I’ve been enjoying a variety of performances both with the band and as a soloist. Whether on the road or at home in New Braunfels, I’m lucky to have the opportunity to perform in numerous settings which is keeping me on my toes. (Keep an eye on the schedule, and definitely note that the repertoire and musical styles, as well as the instruments I’ll be performing on can be changing — hope y’all enjoy it as much as I am!)
In the meantime, I’m really looking forward to the upcoming return trips to Cotati, CA for the Cotati Accordion Festival as a soloist and Cleveland, OH for Oktoberfest with the Alex Meixner Band. I’m also extremely honored for my upcoming induction to the IPA (International Polka Association) Hall of Fame as a Lifetime Achievement Award winner and to be accepting the awards for The Alex Meixner Band as “Favorite International Band” and Music with My Friends as “Favorite International Album.” If you happen to be in western PA on Saturday, September 1, and are interested in attending the banquet and luncheon please check out the IPA website before August 19.
