Good times…

Had a nice little weekend of gigs in Titusville and Daytona this past weekend. On Saturday I was at the Accordion Fest for the Central FL Accordion Club. It was fun to play a solo concert on piano accordion and button accordion- as well as participate in the jam sessions with my old friends Tony Klepec and Virgil Baker, as well as all the other fine accordionists in the area. Sunday brought my band to the Daytona Polish Club for our first performance there. A good crowd of dancers gathered to enjoy the music. I look forward to being back there this Friday as I’m filling in with Polka Family. After the gig, I dropped by the Willow Tree Cafe up in Sanford- where Jimmy Horzen and Eckhardt were performing. A great show at a great venue– food, beer, music, good times – yeah!! I got to sit in on a few button box numbers with them too– hope to visit again sometime soon!

Central FL Weekend

I have gigs on Saturday and Sunday up in the Central FL area– if you’re around Titusville on Sat. Feb. 18 I will be doing a little solo set at the Central FL Accordion Club’s festival in the afternoon and on Sun. Feb. 19, The Alex Meixner Band will be at the Daytona Polish Club from 1-5pm. Looking forward to playing for y’all up there!

Heading to Hoboken- March 3 at the Pilsener Haus!

So I got a phone call from my buddy Ladi at the Pilsener Haus the other day and he asked me to come play at his awesome place- The Pilsener Haus in Hoboken, NJ on Saturday March 3. I love the vibe at Hoboken’s premier beergarden and am looking forward to a bunch of gigs there this year– but, generally I just don’t like the head north during this time of year… So I politely declined. Then, he continued by saying it was going to be a citywide Irish Day celebration with buses circling the city all day and night so everyone can party at all the great clubs. I thought– cool!, but it still requires me to leave Florida and go north when it’s cold and nasty… But he continued and I talked to Zebar, Jon and Hank– and they all said let’s do it. (Keep in mind they all live in NY and PA and I’m the only one who has to drive from FL to NJ….) So…. We’re doing it– we’re going to be rocking (polkaing!!!) from 12 noon to 11pm… Come out, keep warm by drinking a few liters, pints, mugs of beer… Enjoy Irish Day with a German twist! It’ll be fun! Prost!
